The key functions of the Bureau

To serve as the Apex State Statistical Agency responsible for production, management and dissemination of statistics in the State;

Mandate of the Bureau

To exercise professional independence in collection, processing, analysis, reporting and dissemination of statistical information in line with the guidelines of the National Bureau of Statistics; To develop and promote the use of statistical standards and appropriate methodologies for statistics in the state, etc.

Census and Survey

Conduct of Surveys (In-house & Ad hoc Census in all spheres of society, Census of industries and businesses, Educational and household surveys, etc.), Annual Agricultural Crop Sample survey, five or ten yearly sample census, livestock and forestry survey and census of Agric-modern holdings, Labour force, Consumer survey, Core Welfare surveys, etc.
